Can I edit my job at any time?

Yes you can edit your job at any time by logging in to your account and clicking the edit button on the job detail page.

How do I hire a trade professional once I have agreed to a quote?

Once you have decided which trade professional you would like to hire, you simply log in to your account, select the desired quote on the job detail page and then click on the hire button on the detail page for the quote.

How do I post a job?

Visit Post a Job on the menu at the top of any page in the site.

Give your job a short but descriptive title (e.g. Paint Room 3x3m).

Describe your project with as much detail as possible. The more detailed your description, the more interest you are likely to generate from trade professionals. You can also upload images such as plans, photographs or any other documents that might help trade professionals better understand your requirements. Try to include the following information:
  • Dimensions (exact or approximate)
  • The dates you would like your job to start and finish
  • Preferred materials (i.e. quality, brands etc)
  • Specific skills required

Anyone can view this information, so please do not put any contact details or sensitive information in your job title or description.

How long after I post a job is it available to be quoted on?

We manually approve all jobs before they are posted to the site. This approval process will usually be done within a few hours of your post, but could take up to 24 hours. Once your job has been approved you will be notified by email, and trade professionals who are interested will start sending you messages and quotes through the site.
Trade professionals that fall within your job category will automatically be sent an email asking them to look at your job.

How do I create an account on BuildaQuote?

You can Register Here for a service provider/trade account.
We will contact you to finalise approval and setup.

How do I get job leads from BuildaQuote?

Once a posted job is approved by BuildaQuote that falls into one of the categories linked to your account (i.e. your skills & trades), you will automatically receive an email to notify you.

How will I know when a homeowner has chosen to accept my quote?

You will receive an email to notify you that a homeowner has accepted your quote. If you have registered for SMS alerts, you will also be sent an SMS message.

What does it cost to become a member of BuildaQuote?

All Trade Professionals are charged a subscription fee depending on the number of categories required (calculated as accruing daily) and on a selected frequency. If a Trade Professional does not receive a job lead within a particular period, they will not be charged for that period. Note: We are currently in BETA release stage (for a limited time) and all services are completely FREE!

Do I have the right of reply to negative feedback?

As a trade professional you do have the option to reply to the comments posted by homeowners for whom you carried out work.
Your comments will be posted beneath the written feedback left by the homeowner.

How do I get my first feedback?

If you are new to the site, you could wait until you win your first job to get your initial feedback, or you can provide us with previous clients as references.

To provide us with your references simply log in to your account and click on references. Please note: you are limited to three references.

How does the feedback system work?

We all know how important word of mouth business can be. BuildaQuote makes growing your business much easier by providing you with a platform to be rewarded for your quality work.

Your feedback score (or rank) is calculated by taking the total number of positive feedback marks and dividing them by the total number of feedback marks (including positive and negative). When you first become a member of BuildaQuote, you are given an initial ranking of 90%. Your ranking will automatically get updated each time you complete a job, but only once you have completed 5 or more ranked jobs.

Homeowners also have the option to leave detailed feedback and comments. The homeowner who posts the comments is directly responsible for his or her written evaluation. In some exceptional circumstances, we may remove feedback, but only at our sole discretion.

What is feedback?

Feedback is an evaluation of a trade professional's work by the homeowner (client) after the job has been completed.
Each trade professional will have a feedback score which is also expressed as a percentage. This historical score can assist future job posters when choosing which trade professional they will hire.
